PATHOLOGY SERVICES Some patients who receive services at The Center require pathology services. When required, based upon the judgement of your physician, gastroenterology pathology specimens are most often sent to Allied Digestive Health, NY Laboratory. Surgical pathology specimens are most often sent to St. Peter’s Hospital. Certain gastroenterology patients may also require additional pathology specimens which would be sent to CDx Diagnostics. If pathology services are required, there will be separate billings related specifically to pathology. If you receive gastroenterology services, you will receive a bill from Allied Digestive Health, NY Laboratory. If you have additional pathology specimens sent to CDx Diagnostics, then you will also receive a bill from CDX Diagnostics. If you receive surgical services, and pathology specimens were taken, you will receive two bills related to the pathology services. One from St. Peter’s Hospital for preparing the pathology specimen and a second from Capital District Pathology Associates, PLLC for the physician who reviews the pathology. In addition, there is always a separate bill from your gastroenterologist or surgeon.
